Form Eldrad Ulthran to the Highseer of Altansar
Friday, 21 May, 2010Painting of my Eldar continues, this time I have been working on Eldrad Ulthran -special character farseer. As Eldrad (being a seer of Craftworld Ulthwé and also, well, dead) didn’t really fit into my Altansar -army, I wanted him to be the Highseer of Altansar. This way I can easily use the model in my army, while still keeping the theme of the craftworld.
The model, although relatively old, is a really good sculpt and fits well with all the new Eldars. It has a lot of character in it, and although many of the older models are really static, the model looks like he is casting some psychic powers to his enemies, or just posing around like a true hero on the battlefield. So all in all it was really fun to paint the model, although I do have to question why Games Workshop only sells this model through their online store? I am sure I am not the only only who wanted the model! In the end I bought mine through internet from another gamer.
So my army is growing quite nicely. Not only is the Ropecon -tournament coming (at least I hope so), but there is some Apocalypse -action within a month at the gaming club I run, so some more Eldars could be useful.
